Bakri Trading Asia
 We
recognize the growing need to have a presence
in the Asia Pacific and with its diversity of
markets and opportunities, In 1999 we set-up Bakri
Trading Asia in Singapore.
Singapore was chosen for because of its well developed
business infrastructure and its proximity to the
Asia Pacific markets Bakri Trading Asia was awarded
the “Approved Oil Trader (AOT) status from the
Singapore Trade Development Board.
 It
is involved in oil and gas activities which include
trading, shipping and project development. Turnover
in 2001 was in excess of 250 million US$ with
the bulk of activities in fuel oil.
A. K. Al Bakri & Sons Holding and Subsidiaries,
being a well established Middle Eastern organization
was quick to establish a wide range of business
clients- consisting mainly of national oil companies
including:
- Petronas of Malaysia
- Petrolimex of Vietnam
- CPC of Sri Lanka
and as supplier, we have had long-term supply
contracts
to several oil major companies including:
- British Petroleum (BP)
- Shell
- Caltex
- International Traders
