Bakri Energy Marketing Systems (BEMS)

BAKRI Energy Marketing SystemsBakri Energy Marketing Systems (BEMS)was established in June 2000 a new affiliate to the Group in partnership with Mr. Hussain Al Shamma’a (Managing Director/Partner) and former Assistant Managing Director of Marketing of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.

BAKRI Energy Marketing SystemsThe main objective in to extend Bakri activities to the major oil markets and to comingle itself with the local markets of Hydrocarbons and Petroleum products in strategic growing environment. Management at BEMS is constantly seeking to identify new business opportunities locally and worldwide. This unit has been the driving force in the expansion of the company’s business activities globally. It interacts and collaborates very closely with other offices of the company in fields of accounting operation, sales and marketing to achieve a thorough understanding of the market forces.

In view of above BEMS has been compelled to expand outwards towards new markets venture into new fields of business to complement its core activities. The company has built up strategic alliances particularly joint ventures
around the world to develop business and expand them. By year 2000 the company has set-up a presence in the Middle East, Africa and Asia in the form of several joint ventures to market petroleum products and aviation services (aircraft refueling).

BEMS has set up presence in Sudan, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Pakistan with a strategy to conduct retail, break bulk, aviation, bunkering, LPG supply and bottling, so far it has been successful in establishing three joint ventures with Nile Bakri, Omdurman Petroleum Co. and Bakri International Energy MD Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., Colombo.

Other projects under progress are Bakri Kenya, a company that is intended to focus on East and Central African countries, currently discussions are undertaking with local authorities and partners. As a first project under this scheme BEMS is targeting Jomo Kenyatta airports and bunkering at Mombasa ports and land supply of petroleum products.
